Hi all, I had my copper coil inserted just over 6 months ago. I have still been having some really painful cramps, just before my period, during it, and just after it. I have no risk of pregnancy and tend to get about 2-3 days of spotting before the heavy period starts. I can't think of any more symptoms I've experienced, but is it worth getting this checked out? Or is the really painful cramps still normal at this stage and I should just wait it out?

The copper coil does make periods more painful and heavier
It would have calmed down by now if it was going to, I had to have mine taken out for this exact reason.
Mine does the same, its horrible.
If you are experiencing heavier or painful periods and they are not improving, consider having the IUD switched out for the IUS
