HIV Testing needed or not

Hello Friends.

I have friend I have check my blood test my lymphocyte is 18 in the range of 20-40 % and my neutrophillis is 73 % range is 40- 80 % does this show it is a sign of HIV or other diseases.

I have done sex with unknown partner in last 3 weeks

please help me.

Hello George007,

The best way of diagnosing HIV infection is to get tested for it and not to rely on indirect markers like blood counts, etc.

The latest 4th generation HIV test measures both antibodies and levels of the p24 antigen, which can be detected as soon as two weeks after exposure.

In general, the vast majority of people (>95%) will produce enough antigens and antibodies for these tests to detect HIV at two to six weeks after exposure.

So in your case, if you test negative now (three weeks after exposure), you should consider getting a repeat test 4 weeks later to cover any potential (unlikely) risk that the first test may have missed very early infection.
