Hi I have recently decided to start taking the mini pills birth control I was wondering if I could start taking them on Monday rather than starting it in the first day of my period? The mini pills that I will be taking is called cerrelle

Yes you can. However it will take 7 days to be fully protected according to the leaflet. With cerelle you have a 12 hour window to take the pill in. Some other brands its only a 3 hours window . Again if you miss a day its another 7 days before being fully protected. That is what is stated in leaflet provided.

Like the PP said the protection doesn't start right away. So minipill or the usual combined pill both takes upto 7 days to get to the blood concentration to protect you completely. As long you abstain till monday+7 days from sex it's just gonna be fine.
