Bleeding after IUD fitted 1.5 years ago

Hi All,

I had my IUD (Mirena) fitted in December 2017 and didn't have many issues up until recently. I have noticed that I have spotting around when my period should be, but this is lasting much longer than it used to (around 10 days). I have also noticed during and after sex that there is a brown discharge and clumps of dried blood. This has only started recently as mentioned, around 6 weeks ago or so. Not sure what is happening, has this happened to anyone else?

After time the hormonal effect of the Mirena can drop slightly although still providing contraception. So unscheduled bleeding is common . Of course rule out chlamydia if partner change
