Does anyone else struggle with this if so how can I help myself recognise before it's too late.

2 years ago a person who I was friends with from school took advantage of me for stealing car parts I went to court but didn't understand any of it so the case was thrown out of court I fell out with that person as he made me look like a criminal. I can't reconise things like this & when it happens then I'm in deep 💩 is there any tips or advice on preventing these issues from happening..

Friends will take time to talk to you properly and share details of their life and they may give you appropriate gifts or things you need. They may share food and money with you. They may give best advice that really helps False friends give very little - I mean not at all - I hope that helps

I do. people often see my autistic traits and think “clueless and childish” and i’ve been manipulated and taken advantage of because of my inability to read and understand people and their intentions. I think a lot of autists have problems with this and I say that just because i’ve talked to a lot of autistic adults and thought about it myself. What helps ‘me’ was looking up tactics and traits of manipulators, narcissists and abusive people and I have a list of those; whenever I make a new friend, I check my list if im suspicious or unsure about what they’ve done or said. I also draw and reflect on my experiences of being manipulated in the past and try to learn from them, using them to compare to how my current situation with a relationship is going.
