sway and rock
Hiya!
I know what you mean, I have double vision and nystagmus, haha its like being permanantly drunk and wearing someone else's bifocal glass! xx
Yes I have the same 'sway & rock unless I can hold on to a wall or furniture
Although my eyesite is fairly good there is a short delay in focusing
Sitting in a car driving is fine at the moment but not sure whether it will get worse
Does anyone know exercises which help
I am 73 so 'getting on!!!!'
Join the club? I sway in my chair know , I seem to sit as far back as I can. When not in the wheelchair try lying down , it helps. We don't have to spend money to feel drunk anymore .
Regards
this was when i knew i had attaxia i had been feeling funny for a while then one day i couldnt walk in straight line without holding onto wall it brought back memories of how my dad used to walk so i knew what is was though it took a further six months to get diagnoised
does anyone do eye exercises to help with their sight problems ?
I have started doing them to help with Virtigo and I 'think' they are helping but it
is early days
Cheers tedjohnson
new to this site, as only properly diagnosed yesterday after 8 years! i am so glad i'm not the only one swaying and rocking. I do find, sometimes though, once I get going and holding onto something or someone I can manage to walk slowly in a straight line, but stopping/starting and negottiating a step is the worst bit.is it just me, or was anyone else scared they might have early parkinsons, before diagnosis. i wish i was different, but i do get very embarrassed when in public and this happens. does anyone else have a slight rocking motion of the head and neck when trying to sit up straight for too long. joybells
I sway and rock too, find I can walk and play golf even if I use a shopping trolley or a golf trolley. But walking unaided is very difficult, I have just applied to Notts CC for a blue badge but the questions aren't helpful for us with ataxia more pain/breathing related. Here's hoping as my confidence crossing roads etc is very poor, so is my bladder haha
