mobility issues

so ... I've gone from walking stick to crutches (pink !) to give me support around the house. Mobility scooter or powerchair on the horizon I think. The worst thing about this Cerebellar ataxia is the fast onset of fatigue and not being able to do as much as I used to

I was using a walking stick then a walker which I will still use at times. Yesterday I bought a Mobility Scooter and once I get used to it I shall be out and about

I can relate #Elleph. I have been similar route very incrementally from my late 50s .. I'm 80 now. We now have a WAV with ramp and winch to get my scooter in. It has lithium battery which, I'm told, lasts 15 years! Indoors I use self-propelled wheelchair but it does not fit in bathroom or kitchen We have grab rails at doorways and other places and I stand at worktop by leaning .. I can't control sticks, crutches or joy sticks.

Don't forget to smile x

Don't forget rollator option. Though balance may be poor, they can help you to continue walking longer before you take the wheelchair option. There are many varieties.......

thank you ... got a 4 wheel rollator with seat (which OT recommended) don't go anywhere without that, it's light enough for me to fold and put in back of car x
