Hi all, I wrote on here some time ago about neck pain and frequent migraines. I just thought I'd update you all and maybe offer a solution to anyone else who is suffering from the same stuff.
I had X rays on my neck which showed that I have oestoarthritis in four discs in my neck - from between 2&3 down to 6. My physiotherapist also is pretty certain that I have oestoarthritis in my lower back too.
My physiotherapist thinks (and I'm sure he's right) that I have a problem of the movement of my Dura mater. This is the outer tissue layer that surrounds the spinal cord. It should be able to move easily. Mine doesn't seem to. So now I do a very little exercise before I go to sleep every night and I haven't had a migraine for ages. 👍
The exercise is this
Laying down tilt your head forward as far as possible towards your toes and at the same time point your toes away from you.
Then bring your toes pointing towards you and tilt your head backwards as far as you can.
Keep alternatingly between the two movements ten times.
Then finally bring your neck up looking at your toes, and point your toes towards you and hold for a count of ten.
And that's it. It takes no time at all. Not much effort, and has make a huge difference to me.
