I have SCA3 and recently started experiencing neck spasms. They happen out of the blue and often after I have turned my head left or right. Is this cervical dystonia and is there anything I can do to prevent it? Also, is this a symptom of SCA3?

Hi, I have dystonia and had Botox injections for this in my neck, it does help for up to three months. It does sound like dystonia and it can be secondary, mine is. Ask your neurologist if you have one. All the best,
It’s sold with the supplements. Magnesium Citrate absorbs at the same rate so that’s an option too. Citrate also soften stools so pick which one suits your needs in that regard.
Magnesium glycinate is preferred by doctors over other forms of magnesium, such as citrate or maleate. It doesn't soften your stool as much either. Believe me, you do NOT want to ingest too much magnesium! I did and it was not a pretty picture.
