I saw my GP last week and told him about my cloudy blind vision episodes.
The only suggestion he could think of was a drop in my blood pressure as this happens at night and I have been laying down for a long time.
He checked my blood pressure from laying down first and afterwards standing. It dropped 10 points, so maybe that was the reason - who knows. I'm seeing the opthalmologist in February.
I'll probably never know why, like most strange things that happen!

I also get cloudy vision. Unfortunately when I'm walking outside. I can rub my wet eyes with a tissue and have clear vision for a while until it comes back.
But recently bought a magnifying mirror but my image is upside down! My neighbour said his image is ok. Isn't it odd? so am taking the mirror with me to the ophthalmologists tomorrow to find out why. Something is obviously wrong, maybe the two prisms.
