With the mind boggling choice out there and fellow Ataxians on this site, recommendations/make and model and why it’s so good would be helpful.

Dear Confused.

I had an electric scooter for about six years, it dismantled into five parts to go into the car and the battery was very very heavy.

I now have an electric powerchair, and it lifts into the car boot with a hoist that is fitted into the car. The problem with the scooter in turning round in a confined space, whereas the powerchair turns in its own space, so much easier, so from my point of view, I would say get an electric wheelchair. 😀

Thank you Veteran 250. I am putting off using a wheelchair until absolutely necessary, I use a Nitro walker which is amazing.

When carried in a car the vibrations loosen screws which get lost so monthly I tighten them. They come in different sizes and having a shelf/seat is useful for carrying stuff.
