Dear Michaeli

Thank you for your post. I am sorry you are experiencing this. It sounds very distressing for you. I have not hear of anything like this related to ataxia. What type of ataxia do you have?

Harryb I don't know if ataxia I'm just trying to find out what it's called and hopefully get something for it. I keep thinking it's going to kill me. It not that otherwise I won't be here.

I dont know if this is related but when my daughter who has SCA probably linked to gene KCND3 was first diagnosed with ataxia as a child she was also diagnosed with myokymia which was involuntary muscle rippling under skin on back of hand and under eyes ... Im actually not aware of it now but I could see it at time!

hi, i have ataxia as well as dystonia. i'm not sure if the difficulty coordinating movement from ataxia would cause pain in your hand, but my dystonia does. i have it in various places and the cervical dystonia sometimes causes pain to travel down my whole arm and into my fingers. before i started medication, the pain was sometimes unbearable and i would focus on just breathing until it passed.

i also have what i call "mobile thighs" where it feels as if my phone is vibrating against my leg. if i look at it, i can see movement, but it isn't painful. i don't know the name for it.

i know neurological disorders cause all sorts of random and sometimes frightening symptoms. perhaps keep a log of when it happens and mention it to your doctor the next time you go? if it becomes too painful and/or interferes with your life, maybe call them soon. hang in there.

Maybe that's what it is in my hand then. Nothing else shows up as what could course it.

It's not done it since might be just a passing by thing.

I've felt sensations before in my hand I thought it was a dream, it's all related to your Ataxia I blame it for all I deal with. There is numbness at times and tingling, Ive felt burn sensations Wondering is seizures can be possible.
