Options are, first get a sheepskin cover to lie upon to soften the surface or similar, this will spread the load a bit. You can get heel cups they can be prescribed or you can buy them from healthcare sites or disability shops, come in a range of sizes.

Also, you might discuss with the GP about the benefit of trying Sorbaderm barrier cream for the soreness.

I am sorry to hear that. I hope you are okay and keeping your spirits up.

I can understand that you are concerned, this could easily escalate to bed sores, where the skin breaks and an infection gets in.

In my humble opinion, And I am not a medic, just a layperson - but I would suggest the following things, after you have spoken to your doctor perhaps? Or occupational therapist

Get a memory foam mattress topper, Or a memory foam mattress to take the pressure off your delicate skin.

There are also special feet cups that you can put your heels on, this area and your buttocks are particularly susceptible to infection. You could speak to your occupational therapist about this?

Try and move positions as much as possible and get help to do this.

Even better, if you can even better, if you can, Can you get moved to a chair, sofa or even outside for some fresh air?

Hot wash or wash your sheets in A bit of bleach or dettol and have your sheets changed very regularly, to try and minimise any buildup of bacteria which could cause a skin infection.

Make sure everything that touches these areas is scrupulously clean with Dettol wipes or similar

Your local chemist or pharmacy also sells hibi scrub. Your carer will be able to get a bottle for you? Or if your pharmacy does a delivery service, they could deliver some to you?

This is an antibacterial wash that surgeons use, but actually smells really nice and is gentle on your skin. This will get rid of any bacteria on your skin, again minimising the risk of skin infection.

You need to keep those areas particularly clean and get as much fresh air to them as possible. Even just lying on your side with the window open, airing your derriere would help. Undignified perhaps, but needs must!

And if you can, see if you can get someone to massage your feet with some oil that contains tee tree. This is a natural anti septic and having a feet massage is yummy when they are feeling a bit delicate. You need to keep the blood flow to your feet as well.

Odourless garlic supplements and a proprioceptive will also keep systemic infections down and the probiotic will keep your bacteria balance healthy.

A good dose of sunshine and a good laugh it's my final recommendation!

If you are in England, I am particularly amused by Bradley Walsh on the chase!

I really wish you the very best of luck and send a big hug and lots of sparkles this day

I really wish you the very best of luck and send you lots of love and a sparklies this day

Take care sweetie

Don't lie on a pillow.... You need to take the pressure off the area's otherwise you might get a pressure sore.. Try lying on alternate sides.. If left for a few hours then swap to right.. As for your heels they too need taking off the mattress so a pillow under your ankles with you without your heels touching anything.. Also massage the area's with some aqueous or something similar.. It helps to keep the blood flow going Hope this helps.. xxx
