Is there anyway of passing on relivant informatio to my gp or an adress where he can find out directly about drugs ect that may have useful affects other than the one they are designed for I don't want to undermine/offend him so is there a subtle "have you seen"

Hi wobelyjohn

You could direct your GP towards the 'Healthcare Professionals' menu on the homepage of the Ataxia UK website ataxia.org.uk. Via this he can join the medical registry of Ataxia UK (which is free of charge) and would mean he would receive a regular e-newsletter with updates in ataxia. He could also access through this menu the medical guidelines for the management of the ataxias including a summarised version for general practitioners. These are in the process of being updated.

Best wishes

Harriet
