My bra fits in the morning but by lunchtime it feels too tight. I am so tired of trying to get a comfortable bra. Can anyone help.

bra discomfort

Hi. Have you tried a bra extender? Lots available on Amazon. Think supermarkets have them too. Different widths depending on size of fastening on your bra. Works for me.
Same here - thanks for the tip about amazon. I've been getting mine from J.Lewis & they're expensive. I start comfortable and by mid evening I undo or loosen it. Bravissimo are good for well fitting bras, sadly m&s don't cut it any more.
Do you think it's got to do with having lung disease, cause I have the same problem?
I think it is. Anything restricting round the chest area makes breathing more uncomfortable.
I know we loose a lot of water overnight (well at least I do) hence being several pounds lighter in the morning. I guess we all fill out between rising and relaxing in the evenings. I've read that some people with COPD have a swollen belly? Perhaps that has something to do with it.
In my case I'm sure it's fluid, I'm about 6lbs lighter before eating & drinking first thing in the morning.
It could be worth looking for an independent bra fitter. I used one last year and she was able to tell what size I needed even without measuring me! I would never have come up with the size and I feel more comfortable that I have for years.
If by any chance you live near Stevenage I can give you details.
I know what you mean. With me it seems worse if I slump on my sofa but better if I sit upright. But sometimes I have to undo my bra or take it off! I got bra extenders from M&S and they are really good. Plus I did get more bras in a bigger band size which really helps as well. Not sure if COPD makes us feel like this?
I find bralettes more comfortable if not going out. I don't have a huge bust so I think a larger bust may not find them supportive enough. They are good because I find the catch at the back either digs in or itches on normal bras.
I buy a bigger size
Try a sports bra they are magic
OUTFIGURED Look them up online. They are for bigger ladies though and are pull on.
Great tip - I'm going to try one. outfigured.com/collections/...
I have a very large bust and have spent a fortune looking for comfortable supportive bras that I can wear daily and use to sleep with on and these bras have been wonderful. I bought one and sent for 3 more immediately. Have just bought another 2 although they do wash well and do keep their shape. They have gone up in price recently and this is probably because they are so popular.
I got fitted at an independent bra shop, we decided on sports bras and I find them a lot more comfortable. I have a proper underwired bra for if I go out but quite often still wear the sports bra. 🙂
Bras are such a nuisance and I take mine off after my evening meal. I have never found a comfortable one. The underwired don't give any shape and the ones without an adjuster are even worse. The best I have found is from Petite Fleur which I got online. Hope you find one x
I suffered many years with the same issue. Best advice i ever got and to this day I am comfortable in all of them. Go onto boob or bust online and it tells you how to take measurements, you put them in the calculator and it tells you actual size. Its not like in a shop as you have to lean forward etc and measure at their lowest/ biggest 🤣. Then i go to brastop online and buy bras there. The only one that doest fit the size guide from my experience is curvy kate. But you could then purchase from anywhere as you have a proper sizing.
Get yourself measured and properly fitted. I go to an independent shop where they are excellent. They actually specialise in mastectomy bras but fit for conventional as well. Never felt so comfortable since going to them. I’m in Somerset so if you’re this way message me and I’ll pass details.
I am the same. Have to take it off midway through the day unless i’m out anywhere. I use extenders and i also have vests with support in them, they are comfy.
I've mostly given up bothering to wear one unless I'm going out. I keep meaning to get some bra extenders as others have suggested, as I have the same problem as you. I know my back is much wider now, I think it's distended with the lung disease. xx
over the years I have been on this site there have been many discussions on bras , seems to be an ongoing problem .
I have a drawer full of bras worn once or twice and despite being measured they all were uncomfortable somewhere!!!! However.... unbelievable as this may seem I have FINALLY found some comfortable ones. They're from Temu ... Wide shoulder straps no hooks and no underwire!!! Cheap too which helps!!! Not a lot of support so they wouldn't suit anyone with a large bust ... but they have been fantastic for me ...might be worth looking at
I always find buying bras difficult- hate underwired. Dunnes Stores sell lightly padded soft fabric bras - s/m/L - inexpensive and the most comfortable bra I ever had ! Think they sell on line .
