Had such a bad day with chest pain today that I had to take my bra off. Trouble was we were out - good thing I'm not well endowed!

hi Judith i find it difficult to wear a bra especially when my breathing is bad. have to wear thicker clothing at work so as not to cause to much embarrassment, and hope there are no cold draughts!

Just had to comment is a guy thing .. But getting beyond that i have had belly problems and cant stand anything round my neck

A don't know why we with lung problems seem to develop these problems

Cheers al the best :)

Same problem ladies! This means dressing for work can border on torture by midday!

Yes I have the same probs also I can sympathise with Dave as anything round my neck makes me feel as if I.m gonna choke to death. Mx

My husband is the same - anything round his neck causes a problem. Hope the chest pain is better today. Take care TAD xx

Have overslept by nearly 2 hours so taken the day off - had far too much flexi leave anyway. Hopefully it will be better by tomorrow - and have ordered some bras that are supposed to be extra comfortable.

I think you can buy little inserts to attach to the hooks part of your bra. xx

Oh bummer. If I can find out where I'll post. It used to be from haberdashers (what a great word)!

I think I have seen them in the fifty plus catalogue. I know it was definitely a catalogue that came through the door.

M & S. £5 for a set of three extenders - white, black and 'neutral'.

All that trapped air, distortion of ribcage and weakened respiratory muscles have a lot to answer for. I got up to 44" with sloggi bras which don't have cups or wiring, just a kind of comfortable stretch jersey material. For a thin woman who used to be 36aa, that's a big change, and now I can't breath even with the 44" one > flat chest huge stomach - lovely

Hi Alanjudy you would have been very trendy years ago only they burnt their bra's. Do you know why you have that pain, if not I would pop along to the Drs.

I get the pain whenever my chest is bad. There is nothing the Dr can do - I already nebulise colomycin every day and take azythromycin daily! Paracetamol for the pain. Have had a referral to the immunologist at Addenbrookes as my immune system has decided to pack up.

Bit like my Husband. His immune system over works and produces scar tissue. He has IPF. Glad you are sorting it. Hope they maybe will be able to do something for the pain at least.

I have the same problem and hardly ever wear a bra any more. Instead I wear summer t-shirts with thin straps under my blouses and jumpers, pretty shapless but at least I can breathe :)

I tooave a problem with bras. I usually end up taking them off at home. Very sore if i have to wear one all day. :-) :-) Alison

Hi Alanjudy, just found the name of the bra I brought last year, the label had worn off, its the belvedere, spelling seems wrong, from boots just put over the head, bit warmer too. X

I have a lot of chest pain too but I guess it goes with COPD but just learned that recently. I have had to take my bra off too but lucky enough I was at home when I was hurting that much.
