Hello friends, Since yesterday evening i have had awful ache/ pain in my shoulder blades and also at the front in chest. I thought it might be trapped wind as i think that can happen with copd and hyperinflated lungs? I have taken paracetomol but its not much easier. Last night i was worried it was my heart, i get quite scared. I have an appointment with my respiratory nurse next week and a cardio appointment to test for angina. I am on a new preventer inhaler called Ekliar genuair, and wondered if that might not be suiting me. My breathing not too bad and ok when i’m resting but the ache is still there. I dont like going on about it but when i get panicky i need to tell someone.

Discomfort in shoulder blades and chest.
Hi sheepdog, can you ring your GP surgery and see if you can speak to someone on the phone about your pain.
Also the BLF have a helpline which can be accessed if you live in the UK
0300 030 555. Or try your pharmacist .
Hope you feel better soon.
Thank you, it is a little easier now, but if it disturbs me tonight i will go to my lical hosp. I will phone my doctor in the morning and try and get appointment.
Give the surgery/111 a ring. If it is something that needs attention they can deal with it and if not you will have that reassurance.
Thank you. I tend to put it off, though i know i shouldnt. I am really fed up of not feeling right, since Christmas when i had 3 exacerbations in as many weeks, and 3 lots of prednisolone. I shouldnt moan as i know lots of people are so worse off than me. I just get very down. I wasnt too bad til decembe, now i feel my copd has got worse. I’m just hoping it is because of the awful winter weve had, so cold!, and that prolongs our illnesses. Thank you for replying.
Hi sheepdog, i get a lot of trapped wind, in my back. i sort of roll it around, on a firm Cushion and eventually, it shifts .Not sure if its inhalors. could be. Everyones, having a little moan this year and thats fine.. After the Winter we.ve had "having?",and all that "staying in" who can blame us?! Roll on Spring.
Thank you. Yes i think everyone has suffered more in the last couple of months. But soon be Spring. Much better for us when the weather is better.
Hi sheepdog, I have had similar problems which turned out to be acid reflux but dont think you should leave this, go to your local hospital they can do the checks and at least reassure you. Hope you feel better soon. Irene x
Thank you, its easier today but i will try get in my doctors
Yes thats what i had acid reflux and this had reminded me that as ive been experiencing same sort if symptoms-to see Doctor for a prescription for the proton inhibitors which cleared it up a treat. I had an endoscope to find out why i was having pains and i hiatus hernia too apparently!

Thank you. Yes, i am hoping it is just acid reflux, i did take a few doses of gaviscon which helped a little, i am seeing my respiratory nurse on monday so hopefully get some answers. It is more comfortable now,
Welcome , by the way, this is a lovely site , always a friend will reply. It is good to have an understanding person to listen, especially when we are feeling down or rough. Sweet little dog, i love dogs too, i have border collies. Such good company and comforting. Take care.
