I went for my flexible cystoscopy this morning. I was seen pretty quick and the doctors and nurses very sensative.
The cystoscopy took less that 15 minutes and unfortunately they found a start of a tumor.
I was watching on a screen and it really did not look much, but I have to be admited to have it removed,
The waiting list I believe is 6 to 8 weeks.
Bladder cancer tumours have a habit of returning, this was not unexpected.
The plan is to remove the small tumour and do a biopsy of the site and I will then start a new course of BCG.
Options are GA/ Spinal and a small possiblility of a local. depending on what the MDT think. I am not allowed a GA, so I can cross that off. That is the latest in a nutshell.

How disappointing to find another tumour in your bladder. It’s good that it’s only small and the waiting time isn’t too long.
I can’t have an epidural because I have spinal stenosis, and GA is difficult because my airway isn’t straight - I have RA in my neck, so getting the tube down my throat is interesting!
Thank you Helen - It is disappointing, but Bladder Cancer is known to reoccur - It's a start of a tumour and can be dealt with, I have scoliosis. in my spine , This could be a problem with a spinal, they have struggled to get in. through the discs.
If the decide to zap with Lazor - a local maybe can be used, if not - I don't know, they have not wanted to give me a GA in the past. We shall see,
Thry have got it in time and it will b removed, thank God for that. The biopsy will confirm the treatment plan is right for you. I wish you the very best outcome.
Unexpected or not Ern that’s so very disappointing after all you’ve been through so far. I really hope you are seen soon and have a successful tumour removal. Glad it’s a small one.
Sending hugs and lots of positivity your way. Thinking of you. Xxx❤️🙏🏻🤗
Thank you Carol. I knew there was a chance it would return. but remembering the dark days. this time caught early and BCG I will get will I hope keep the grade down. The surgion and nurses really nice, they treat Anne and me well. I am optimistic it will turn out OK xxx
Ah Ern not what you wanted to hear (nor did any of us for that matter) but glad they've caught it early and here's hoping they fit you in before the 6 to 8 weeks🤞🤞. Thinking of you. Take care my friend ❤️❤️
Thank you Nula - I waa 50/50 whether I would be clear or not, Bladder Cancer has a sneaky habbit of coming back - I hope I get in that time-frame. I would like it all done before Christmas. I don't mind the BCG treatment, just once a week. xx
Ern Iam so sorry to hear they have found a tumour. Thankfully they found it early. Hopefully they will remove it as soon as possible. Try and keep positive. Look at it as another challenge in life, you have had your fair share lately and you will get through this one as well. Wishing you well and I will be thinking of you during this difficult time. Best wishes Ern ❤️ issy x
Thank you Issy. It was half expected issy, Bladder Cancer does sneak extra tumours in. They tell me it's early. and will have it removed within 6 to 8 weeks, could be earlier, that depends on the MDT. I will stay possitive asthat's the only way to beat this pest. I am optimistic Issy, it did go from high to low grade with BCG and I will be going back on BCG again they tell me, after this tumour is removed. Again thank you for your kind wishes xxx
I’m so sorry to hear this. Thankfully it was caught early and you haven’t got to wait a stupidly long time to get it seen to. Wishing you well and thinking of you and Anne. 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑
Thank you for your good wishes HH - Bladder Cancer tumoursoften come back - That does not mean they will be maignant, I am hoping the fact I went from High Grade to Low Grade after third lot of BCG Treatments, will help define what this start of a tumour will be - I also being given another course of BCG when they have Zapped or removed this. They have caught it early HH soI am lucky in that respect.
The treatment I got at hospital today was first class, really put me and Anne at ease, and they let Anne stay until I went in the room.
I’m so sorry to hear that but glad it’s been found early so hopefully it can be dealt with quickly. Sending you best wishes for a quick and successful outcome.
Thank you roscoe59 - Yes i's early, I saw it on the screen, was not very large or a bad colour. My new team seemed very capable and I believe they will get me in as soon as they can.
My Sons Mother in law has just had the same op plus 6weeks of injections into site & after a 3 week break was expecting to have another 6 weeks but all good. No sign of the tumour & a break until October & another check . It seems bladder cancer is the one most likely to return. Hope they get you in soon xx
As the song goes - You've got to ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive
E-lim-i-nate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mr. In-Between.
Yes Ern, let's hope it's all clear for Christmas. And if you're not up to using paint brushes, you can conjure up some exotic beach scenes in your head.
Thank you David for your good wishes,. You first 4 lines so correct - In fact mandatary. liked those 4 sentances .
I get a lot of support from Anne, she is a rock,
Yes I hope and believe this will be sorted before Christmas , I like my new team. my paint brushes help - a huge distraction.. The "beach scenes" sound inviting David, Every single holiday have had has been coastal.
Because of my heart and lung problems. in a life or death situation I dare say they would, but for a tumor removal from bladder, a spinal is safer for me.
Thank you Wendy, Not not the best new, but better than it could have been, bladder cancer can sprout more than one. Really it's not bad,I just wonder and hope they zap it. xx
I am so sorry to hear you have another tumour Ern but glad it is small and they have caught this early. I hope all goes well for you and you get in quickly. Sending big hugs stay postitive x
so sorry to hear you have a small tumour but am glad it is small. I hope and pray it can be removed without issue and the BCG will take care of everything.
Sorry to hear Ern007 that your cystoscope was not all plain sailing , these are the sort that reoccur, hopefully the waiting time does not go over the existing estimated. Take care one day at a time try to stay calm while waiting, you sound very positive , but it is a lot to take in when you are unwell and another thing happens. Bye for now.
Thank you watergazer Yes you are right, found it in a very early stage. I hope the op is soon and Iam going back on BCG after, that's a bonus I did not expect xx
This was so not what you needed Ern. But all I can feel is gratitude on your behalf that it's been discovered. Hopefully the biopsy will be negative - and that they get you in to sort it asap. Thinking of you xx
oh Ern what are you like. Well I hope they don’t keep you waiting too long because it’s obviously going to be a worry. Let’s hope it’s just a benign cyst.
