Colomycin v Promixin

Thank you for your replies. All sorted now. Went back to the surgery and explained Consultant had specified Colomycin and they changed my prescription for next time. But when I went in the pharmacy to make sure they were able to get Colomycin they have agreed to take back the Promixin and dispense Colomycin. Result! I have had change of brands on some of my other meds but I just feel more comfortable sticking to what I know in this case. Keep well everyone.

It certainly is. Feels like a constant fight sometimes, but we have to look after ourselves the best we can.

Oh yes. I just had one heck of a fight to get looked after by my local OPAT team which involved furious emails to my consultant,GP and making myself very unpopular with OPAT teams at my local hospital and the QE in bham. It worked. I got treated and the local team were lovely and v professional when they finally took me on and discovered that when I said I was capable of doing my own home IVs that I wasn"t lying. But boy I am worn out and I have had a lifetime of this struggling.

Well done to you too, that's exactly what I mean! It's hard work just keeping the fight in us, I think.
