Rash on leg

Hey everyone, As mentioned previously, my mum is awaiting radiotherapy and has decided to go ahead. She has had a horrendous cough now for nine weeks and had numerous courses of anti biotics, which cannot be great. She is currently taken her third course of cotrimoxazole, which have not done much. I have pushed for my mum to go in for IV antibiotics, hoping it will be better.

When on chemo, she developed neutropenia sepsis which has now effected her blood counts. My mum has developed a rash on the base of her legs, which she has developed before, which went. Please see photo. Has anyone else had this type of rash? Could it be sepsis related again? Any ideas anyone?

Thank you.

Paul

hi Paul. I would ring and speak with a cancer nurse at your mums hospital. They will have a good understanding of what it could be and guide you. I had neutropenia when I had chemo but luckily didn’t get sepsis. There are cancer organisations online as well who have nurses you can ring. Good luck x
