Rash on inside of ankles

Hubby, who has asbestosis and COPD, has developed a quite large pinprick red rash on the inside of his ankles, the right one being much worse. Is this something I should be concerned about and have to start a bullying campaign to get him to visit his GP?

Can't help about the rash think docs would be best. I know what you mean about the bullying, my husband would rather put up with anything than see the doc and the more I nag the more he digs his heels in. I think I need to use the softly softly approach.

Good luck

couldn't agree more, it depends what mood he is in on the day as to which method I use, bullying, softly or medical terminology (i.e. scaring). Think our GP recognises this and is more than happy to speak to me over the phone.

Before you rush to the GP with the rash look up Golfers vasculitis on the internet and look at an image - in this sort of weather if you are on your feet more than usual this is something that can occur - my partner gets it and it looks really angry and as if it is something awful but actually there is nothing you can do about it and it goes eventually - if in doubt though do see the GP.

thank you so much, that explains a lot it does seem to be worse when it is warmer and certainly it started after he felt well and we went for, what was for us, a longish walk

Hi my husband is just the same - never wants to see the doc! See how it is Tom maybe worth a phone call to the doc if it is no better. Good Luck TAD x x
