i ordered salbutamol nebules for my nebuliser last monday, yesterday i rang the chemist to ask where they were, i was told they are not manufactured any more and to get in touch with my doc, i asked why they hadn't told me earlier, no good answer was forthcoming. has any one else had something different to a-salbutamol? thanks now for any replies.

Hi whit, Pete still has salbutamol for his nebuliser without any problem at all. I’m sure they’re still being manufactured but only time will tell.

Take care xxx

I got my monthly order from my doc's pharmacy this week. I really don't know what that pharmacist is talking about. Better go back to your GP or practice manager and get them to source it somewhere else.

Not had any issue getting my salbutamol for my nebuliser. I wonder if particular health boards are changing things??

I think 5 mg Ventolin nebules have been discontinued . Best check

Are your 5 or 2.5 .

I use Combivent nebules 2.5 not ordered any recently .

They are a combination medication ….a few side effects though, I only use them in emergencies .

Hi Whit.. you mean the 2.5 Ventolin nebules salbutamol sulfate ? I am prescribed these for like an asthma attack ... which yes my chemist is telling me they often can't get now ... instead I'm provided with Accord Sulbutamol 2.5mg/ml nebuliser solution which the chemist tells me is the same ... he has no problem sourcing those

Salbutamol has been discontinued. The new one still has Salbutamol in it but is CFC free. It's a greener alternative called Salamol,

Hi Whit , I’m sorry I can’t be much help , it was my husband who used them but sadly he died in April. We struggled to get hold of them even then - they frequently had to send 5ml rather than his usual 2.5ml so it doesn’t surprise me that they are now using substitutes. I believe it was still being manufactured but difficult to get supplies from abroad . I hope you get it sorted out soon , good luck 😊 x

Salbutamol nebs have been in short supply for ages. Last month I received 40 out of 60, and this month none at all. They fob me off with the 0.9% saline, but l don't get on with them, as they dry my mouth and sinuses.
