Garden of Eden.

I promised a couple of weeks ago, I would post the painting I did years ago called the garden of Eden.

Well it did not work out as expected - The canvas now poor would not take some paint.

I got a decent(ish) picture "I though"

When coming to take picture, it showed the weave in lines - I tried on easel, indoors and out.

I new I was defeated as it was not restorable. so, I took a picture in the garden, NOT A CLOSE UP which I normally do.

It stopped the shimmer - But not a close up lost lot of detail .

I will still post as I said I would.

I’ve zoomed in Ern so managed to see quite a lot of detail. I like it very much, especially the colours. Thank you for posting. Xxx🩷🥰

Thank you Carole. Glad you managed to see some detail. Why I bothered to try and breath life in this was the colour of the hills, I thought biblical and I brought in gold and silver paint. Canvas was shot though - I will in 3 or 4 weeks paint this from new, I liked the large canvas for a change. xxx

I can't paint at all Ern but can imagine how it might be easy to be one's own worst critic. As Carole said, it contains a lot of detail and is very colourful and cheerful.

Thank you Carole - I intended posting a close up but the image in the phone, showed flaws. I am glad the colour is coming through,

Thank you. Light was so bad, had to go outside - I have a spot lamp to paint with, but no use for photo's, leaves a glaare..

Thanks Carole for the hint. It certainly is better to enlarge it if poss. I liked the composition, and thought the human figures well done. Also liked the way the pot plants in the garden harmonised with those in the picture. Look forward to seeing the revised version.

Thank you. I enjoy doing pots with plants in, those on the right painted with gold and silver paint.

Hi Ern 🙋‍♀️thank you for sharing this . I liked the fact that it's not close up - made it a different experience and meant I had to scan the canvas more - didn't notice the snake at first! Think you're too critical of your paintings, I enjoy all your art work. 😊Take care xxxx

Thank you, The reason I was critical, the canvas seemed to not allow fine tuning with a detail brush. The grain was to prominent , must have been with prolonged storage. I liked the snake, I did not have that the first time,

You also take car Nula2 xxx :-)

Ah that's OK then.....you're allowed to criticise the canvas! 😅xxx
