Nebuliser : Hi ,does anyone use a medix... - Lung Conditions C...
Nebuliser
I have a nebuliser like that. I only used it once.
I know that in hospital they put saline in with salbutomol, maybe that’s why it takes longer. I’ve been on hospital ones for approx 20 mins. I think it depends how much salbutomol/saline is put in.
Please don’t take my word though , perhaps you best speak with doctor/nurse for reassurance.
This nebuliser is stronger than the hospital ones. If you find it disconcerting put 5ml saline 0.9% in with it.
My nebuliser will empty 2.5ml in 2 to 3 minutes, it will depend on the amount of liquid in the container. Are you using neat Salbutamol, can you dilute it with saline solution as that would take longer to empty
I use a nebuliser put saline in it and takes about 20 minutes if I only put 1 sabutamol in it’s like you sometimes I put 2 sachets of sabutamol in and takes a bit longer hope to get it sorted take care.
Hi Alice70
Here is a copy of the manual in PDF format. Although l think you maybe chose a wrong type of Nebulizer.

There are a lot out there to choose from.
Good luck
Hi regarding the nublizer machine ac2000 medix nothing is wrong as it's a new machine the power the suction it's great hospital ones have power only the brand new ones not the old machine it takes 25min to have sulbutmol 2.5mg unless the mask wasn't close properly and it leaked out or there was a leak my suggestion is if you want to try and compare the hospital one and your one and see otherwise on your next appointment you can take and show it to physiotherapist just for peace of mind I have bought same one's from hospitals and it done the job in minutes but as time went pass it has slowed down
Hi alice,
I suppose that the nurse did not tell you that a vial of salbutamol should be diluted with a vial of sterile saline solution (prescribed by your GP), this increases the volume of liquid and the process will last longer and be more effective.
Personally I prefer to use this:
amazon.co.uk/dp/B08DJ596QM?...
Search on net and you will see that is far more effective than salbutamol, and without side effects; unfortunately is not on the NHS so it will cost you one pound a day , but each vial is enough for two inhalation specially if you put some saline in it.Using this avoided me many runs to the hospital.
Hope it helps
