The only one I can think of is Stay-sure (actually that doesn't look right 🤔).The costs of medical fees, repatriating a sick person (or body) must be astronomical especially now that all prices have risen everywhere Ice2010.
20 years ago my student daughter burnt her leg on a motorbike exhaust in USA, even though she was insured she was supposed to pay upfront, it was $5000 & they chased us for it for several years. Just a burn, g. knows how much things are now.
If you're travelling to Europe dont for get to get the medical card, I believe it still works alongside insurance.
Someone will come along with some actual advice I'm sure. P
It's some years since I've been abroad, but I used to go with Saga. Never the cheapest, but always reliable. I'm told they are now very expensive. If you look on 'Search Health Unlocked' in the top right hand corner, you may find some more up to date information.
Hi - we use a company called
Able2Travel - 01483 806826
and get an annual insurance for those with pre-existing health issues, and the cost is reasonable. I’m fairly sure they do one-off trips as well as multi, but it’s worth a try. We haven’t needed to claim so can’t vouch for how that’s handled.
The medical questions are by nature quite intrusive and detailed, so it’s worth sitting down and listing health problems, dates, ongoing investigations and medications before you have to answer about those on the phone!
Am with Staysure. In case helpful to anyone with mild bronchiectasis, to my complete amazement, they're no longer insisting I declare this as I've (no wish to tempt fate here) not had an exacerbation requiring medication in the last two years (probably as so careful re Covid and still am).
We had staysure for years but this year it went up to silly levels so went with Avanti who were much more reasonable (have COPD and hypertension) Ours is annual worldwide though
Hi Ice2010
You could try the links below, its often a good idea to call a broker and negotiate, rather than just using the website quote options.

Best of luck

We've use Insurefor.com this year.
It was great to find this conversation. I’ve always used Allclear insurance but I got a quote today and it’s almost double than when I went away earlier this year. I hastily searched this knowledgeable forum and found this discussion and got a quote from Staysure which is half the price (still not much less than £400 though!) than Allclear quoted. I almost rushed into buying it right away but saved my quote so I can think about it and read the small print. I’m thinking I’ll go with Staysure though. Thank you for the info!
I meant to add, the U.K. issued EHIC or GHIC aren’t accepted in many countries now. It’s not recognised where I’ll be going so health insurance is essential really, though of course I hope to never need to use it.
