Our 3 month trip to SE Asia.

So, our trip to SE Asia is over. We arrived home on Saturday.

I have to say I am delighted how it went. We knew exactly where we were going, so had none of that working out to do, so in a coupleóf days our home from home was just that.

I have returned with my prescriptions for Loperamide and antibiotics untouched. I walked every morning, averaging 10km a day, and have felt really, really well.

As always happens, I have lost weight on the trip, but I usually trickle that back on over the months.

So, now it's the catching up with various things - monitoring bloods (for the Nintedanib) tomorrow, and lung function test on Thursday, prior to seeing the Consultant later in the month.

Anyway, hopefully we can do it all again next year. Running away from winter suits us just fine.

Well, therein lies a bit of a sad tale. I have hundreds of photos.

I knew before going my best friend would be having cancer surgery whilst we were away. As we walked together, I thought I would "take her with me" on my daily walks, sending her pics every day - just local sights, flowers and shrubs, fishing boats etc.

Unfortunately, her surgery was complicated and the aggressive cancer claimed her a few days before we came home. It was all incredibly quick, and not at all what any of us expected.

My husband worked in the Middle East , Far East and Asia for 38yrs. I was with him most of the time and we lived I many Countries. Dubai, Oman, Doha ,India ,Sri Lanka, Yemen, we also visited, Thailand, Hong Kong, and many other places. My daughter was living in Bahrain as she was cabin crew for Gulf Air so we visited her often. I also went on trips with her to many Countries.

Its been a wonderful life but now happy to be back in my lovely Homeland Wales enjoying our retirement.

Thanks for your sentiments everyone.

I didn't make this post because of that sad element, but in the hope it might help others realise it isn't impossible to do some of these things, given a following wind.
