3 weeks and counting!

Morning everyone. πŸŒ„ Hoping you are all keeping safe and well as spring is on its way! 😊 3 weeks since cataract surgery, all seems to be going well and all much clearer. I was not impressed with actual operation BUT end result good and having other eye done March 15th.

A week later started Clarithromycin for lung infection, think it was because not clearing properly as didn't want new lense to move! 😷

Last week dad rolled off the bed πŸ›Œ left him bruised and battered but nothing broken. In hospital overnight as bloods showed unspecified infection, iv antibiotics and fluids. At 96 hes home with Rascal(cat) and looking much better. πŸˆβ€β¬›

Shouldn't tempt 😜 fate but now hoping a wee bit of rest and recovery time.

Good to be back. Best wishes to all. Dawn.xx

glad it a working out well i found while i was waiting for second eye to be done that the bad eye acted as a yellow filte with a camera and showed clouds in the sky that the good eye didnt see ! made a plain blue sky so much more interesting . i like to look at clouds and found the difference .intriguing and used to go around swapping from eye to eye ! . but could not share this effect ,only describe.

Hi, I was lucky to get both eyes done just before 75 birthday, had been waiting years, told GP had to renew driving licence so able to look after my mother who lived alone age 109, and not prepared to lie on driving licence form. My Gp very helpful, had eyes done at two different hospitals, first was very good, no bruising, but second was done hurriedly, had bruises, but sight ok. Hope your dad continues to enjoy life.

My mother was only 4.5 tall and sometimes fell getting back into bed. She had button to press and we, me and my husband got phone call to go get her back into bed. Unfortunately my husband had operation on his spine, and so as I couldn’t manage her on my own, paramedics were called. I stressed that I should be called first so that I got there before ambulance, but one night the paramedics had got her into ambulance when I got there. Mother was saying don’t want to go hospital but they refused to take her out. She was then age 111.

I knew she was healthy as that morning GP had visited for annual flu jab and check, was told heart and lungs, blood pressure etc was fine, and mother said she had another few years.

Paramedics took her to hospital, where she picked up chest infection. Was sent home two days later on Friday night with antibiotics tablets so big she couldn’t possibly swollen them. Unfortunately by Monday she was worse and taken back to hospital and put on Liverpool Care Plan. No treatment or help with food etc. and when dying sent home. I do hope your father doesn’t have this problem, I’m told that Livepool plan has been discontinued, but beware of other so called care plans. Best regards, Jean x
