Sorry to hear how unwell you have been. Fingers crossed the CT will help. I can empathise with the lung pain, hopefully you will be in the mend soon.

I can't help , but just wanted to say good luck with the ct and I hope they give you some effective pain relief pretty darn quick. I'm sure others will post tried and tested means of alleviating pain.

This sounds horrible. I hope the CT scan helps the medical people find a way of brining you relief. xx

When I had pleurisy and pneumonia, I was in hospital for 10 days. I had a number of antibiotics including intravenous ones, and I had 750ml of infected fluid drawn out of my chest cavity. This was what was causing my 8 level pain just at the bottom of my rib cage. I also think this illness was what caused my heart failure, with which I was diagnosed not long after. Make sure you are looked after.

Hi. When I had pleurisy with pneumonia I used a hot water bottle or a pillow under my arm as that’s where my pain was. Take care. Also took co codamol - the strongest along with ibruprofen. X

Pleurisy is incredibly painful. My husband wrapped a scarf around his chest and pulled it tight when coughing and that helped with the pain. Hopefully eased soon xxx

I found co codamol effective pain control but made me constipated I believe this is a common side effect.
