Definitely north vs south weather divide. Currently 18 here

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply to B0xermad

Yes a marked difference - For the size of Britain, a real difference between North and South.

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply to B0xermad

I like it at least warm, I tolerated C in Turkey a few years ago - We had thee days in mid 20s last week, as I type now 13C and rain, heavy just comeing back from eye clinic. Normally not to bad in NW England as sheltered with Pennines, soemone must have nicked them lol.

Yes I agree. cold here again. My heating has fired up. Such a contrast to last week. Lovely warm colours just the thing. A spot of Ginger tea too. xx

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply to Dottie11

Thank you Dotte,oh I like Ginger Cake - Must admit never had ginger tea,xx

Dottie11 profile image
Dottie11

These last few years I have eaten more and more. In soup, tea, dark chocolate ginger, cake less so as it has Gluten in many. My husband loves Ginger cake. The smell is wonderful. It is a good anti inflammatory. i use the root and soak in hot water for tea. Sometimes with Honey too. xx

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply to Dottie11

As a youngster I had lots of Ginger Bisuits - They were had but loved them, My two fave Cake is Ginger and Cherry and Sultana both soft as I like them. I like honey also, On bread, in oats and weetabix to sweeten., xx

Dottie11 profile image
Dottie11 in reply to Ern007

Oh yes I had forgotten ginger biscuits . I love Cherry in anything. Currently enjoying lots of them this time of year. Good vitamins too. Honey is useful in so many ways as you say. A neighbour makes some which is very nice and tastes of lavender too. Summer foods such as berries as tasty too. xx

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply to Dottie11

I eat berries, Strawberry and Raspberry, not keen on Blueberry, but like goosberry in a pie. Good for you too. I am not allowed Kiwi or Grapefuit because of my medication, I like Kiwi but hate grapfruit anyway, to sour.. Rhubarb Crumble, that's a treat when we get it xx

Dottie11 profile image
Dottie11 in reply to Ern007

Oh yes goosberry another memory jog. I like berries in porridge with Honey. Rhubarb easy to grow and nice with ginger. I dont eat Grapefruit these days nor oranges as they cause sores in my mouth. . Years ago we used to sprinkle on Cinnamon and warm under the grill- re grapefruit. Blackberries are tasty too. xx

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply to Dottie11

I like blackberry - Where I live there are hedgrows full of them. i love the taste of bramble, in jam too. xx

Dottie11 profile image
Dottie11 in reply to Ern007

Growing up we were always picking them its such a taste of Summer. We used to go Strawberry picking in Herefordshire too. xx

Ern this painting is amazing ,it’s absolutely beautiful. My favourite so far now. Love the autumnal colours. Is this painting based on an original design from another artist ?

Well done Ern xx

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply to Issy22

Thank you Issy - I remembered this painting from two years ago painted by an artist named Sky - who helped me transform from watercolour to acrylic technique wise , while the original idea was not mine. This painting came from my memory. xx

Issy22 profile image
Issy22 in reply to Ern007

Thank you Ern I just wondered if it was from maybe a famous artist ( Van Gogh or Picasso). Iam glad you chose to paint this one it’s very good. xx

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply to Issy22

No not from the famous - I have done a Van Gogh Starry Night and Van Gogh Roses - Monets Poppy Field and ShoreLine in Venice, they are on here. xx

Issy22 profile image
Issy22 in reply to Ern007

I remember seeing your painting starry night I liked that painting. I will have to search for some of your earlier paintings I would like to see the poppy fields painting, it was probably posted before I joined the forum. Iam not a fan of Picasso either, some of the paintings are ugly with weird bold shapes. I like the paintings by the artist Monet especially the water Lillie’s painting. xx

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply to Issy22

The Monet one is not far down my painting as just a month ago,

Issy22 profile image
Issy22 in reply to Ern007

I found it Ern its lovely I like the combination of red and orange poppies. and the little house is very rural and rustic, very French. I like your added input of the lane and the girl in the field. Another good painting from yourself well done. xx

Ern007 profile image
Ern007 in reply to Issy22

Thank you Issy and yes I wanted it very French you are spot on . The lane inspired by the lane in no More The Darkness Film. xx

I like that one a lot Ern. It has your mark on it and I love the blue panelled brolly or parasol, matching the blue in the sky. I'm still hoping for some summery spells.
