has anyone had this lovely bug? been diagnosed after waiting 12 days for sputum test result and was on wrong antibiotics at the time .Explains why i was struggling to breathe and had begun to start thinking i needed steroids.On cipro now for it .Of course ive googled bug.Any info from fellow sufferers?

I googled the bug too as I hadn't heard of it. It did say that the only antibiotic effective against it is chloramphenicol which is a very old drug. As it is a gram negative bug I hope that the cipro works as that can be effective against other gram negatives. Please let us know how you go on

yes I’ve had a lot of what they call gram negative ones and that’s one of them! long time ago but think I had gentamicin. I’d got really ill before they discovered it & like you had been on wrong antibiotics so it took about 2 months IV and nebulised gentamicin to get rid of. If yours is showing as sensitive to cipro that’s good 👍
