Hi I'm Tracy I'm 47 2 months ago myself and my shelter dog buster was attacked and bitten by a pitbull, buster recovered I ended up getting a lung infection and was hospitalized. They did a CT and last week I went for a,second CT scan the area has grown so they phoned and said infection should have gone now and its possibly cancer. I have a PEP scan tomorrow and absolutely terrified I can't, eat or sleep I'm so scared has anyone been through anything similar x

I'm so sorry that you are having such a worrying time. I hope that the PET scan shows one of the many causes of lingering infection that are not cancer. Do let us know how you get on.

Hi im sorry you are going through such a tough time. I am keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well, but if the worst happens you are not alone and please reach out for help and support thear is lots out thear and some people on hear will have been through simmaler though prehaps not with the dog attack. Bless you, if your little dog hadn’t been so awfully attacked you would never have known this early, it sounds small as they thought it might be an infection, so please stay strong and try to be positive, I’m sending you love and believe that they have caught it early, Buster will look after you hun, your a good soul, please keep posting 👼🙏

Hi I had a pet scan 3 months after I had LVRS . They found nodules in lung which they thought might be cancerous . The result was that there wasn't anymore cancer elsewhere in my body so to monitor the nodules fir another 3 months . Upshot was 3 months later they had disappeared and touch wood 4 years later haven't returned . The pet scan is nothing to worry about . Wishing you good luck and don't worry 😘. Xxx

I had a PET scan after a CT scan showed a dark shadow on my lung

I can appreciate how you feel as It was a scary time, but fortunately it turned out to be an infection which cleared up with antibiotics.

I’m sorry you’re going through such a rough time at the moment, Tracy. I’m sure there are other reasons than cancer for infection to linger. Try not to worry -easy to say I know.

I hope Buster is fully recovered from your terrible experience.

Nothing can stop you worrying but try to keep in mind that whatever the outcome of the scan , (and there is every chance that outcome will be no where near as scary as you may be imagining ) you will have support and get through it . I was once in a similar situation and after several different tests was given a clean bill of health , unfortunately we tend to hear much more about the worse rather than the many good outcomes of medical tests x

Oh my so sorry to hear this and fingers crossed the outcome is good. I did have a mass on my lung that didn’t go away after pneumonia so was sent for a scan and my notes showed “Possible cancer” in red writing. Fortunately for me no cancer however diagnosed with bronchiectasis xx

I really feel for you, it must be very frightening…..my daughter has secondary breast cancer and has scans every two months and we always feel just like you before scan day. But hopefully your scan will be fine and if not, that you’ll be able to cope with whatever life throws at you, it’s scary I know but I’m sure you will.
