Scan After Scan Update.

Since August I have had two X RAYS - One CT SCAN followed by a PET SCAN followed by another CT SCAN.

X RAYS showed shadow on LEFT LUNG APEX ) so did second X RAY after AMOXICLAC treatment.

So CT SCAN showed the same..

Went for PET SCAN and they rang me the day after saying it had spread to my right lung. Ordered another CT SCAN in six weeks. Which I had to chase up.

Anyway had the CT SCAN and specialist rang me up and said the left lung shadow had not grown - Have another CT SCAN in six months. So I said what about the shadow that had spread on my right lung - He replied not spread been there before could be scars,,

I was told I had scars years ago - but been denied since until now. PET SCAN people said it was a spread. - In any case left lung worst at moment.

I expected a biopsy if all these test was not conclusive - but hey I did not want one and IF the shadow is malignant bit could break free and enter blood stream.

ALL THIS FROM A COPD REVIEW IN AUGUST.

Specialist thinks it could be "inflammatory " and I suppose it could but, other than COPD I have been ill in myself since June.. I think the specialist is correct to wait - I am not at least being mauled. I am getting good COPD and ANGINA treatment and good pain management at moment so I can enjoy my spring in garden and hope CT SCAN in june brings good news,,, This is just an update and this year COPD has been better than last year - {Could not have been worse.)

My only worry is why was a coughing blood in my sputum in November, seems to have stopped for now....

Thank's to everyone who answered my last post on this,,

I love it too - more than summer. My bulbs are all coming through. Just wish I could do more gardening than I can - I expect you feel the same Ern after being int he trade.

Our bulbs are also coming through. yes we are limited and I do some container gardening. I bought a Bamboo from Amazon and it's in a pot and looks really good. My main work was with Fuchsia's a plant I am very fond of, but lack of space meant I had to contract out to a market gardener. It was good looking back, Tomato plants grow to some 20 feet and are hard work. It was good getting paid and earning for what I wanted to do...

I love Fuchsias too and have a few varieties. I aso love Salvias and Penstamons. I am lucky enough to have a neighbour who worked in a nursery for 23 years and we swop stuff and she advises me. I have bought my second earlies but will grow in containers. I don’t grow tomatoes as I don’t eat many.

It must have been fab to have a job you loved so much. The bamboo sounds stunning.

I now grow hardy Fuchsias only as they look after themselves = Army Nurse, Garden News and Prosperity being the pick in size and colour. You are lucky to have such a friend, I always help where I can. Tomatoes I never grow for myself, just under glass when I worked in part as a Market Gardener. Penstamons are one of my favourite plants. Have you tried the stunning Red Lobelia? Not the bedding.......You must not let them dry out and you will be rewarded with the deepest of reds,,,,

Yes they are beautiful - have some courtesy of my friend. My garden is a corner spot at the bottom of a slope and so most is very wet, although there is a stone wall which can get very dry in summer. Where there is a fence it is shady. My friend has given me lots of different coloured penstemons. That’s what I love about gardening, the sharing when things don’t survive the winter. Mine is a council house. My friend has worked on hers to make it much easier to follow. I am concerned this year that I might not be able to do the front garden as I like it. I know where all the bulbs are. For the back I have. Gardener and I chose him because he is a grafter and not a planstman as i enjoy cutting back plants, watching cuttings grow etc. But I am wondering if I should pay more and get a ‘proper’ gardener. Might even think about moving if I can’t manage my garden.

Thank you for the names of the Fuchsias - I will look them up. I too go for hardy or perenials. Saying that I usually come home in summer with too many beddings.

I don’t know what I would do without my friend - she will often say ‘are you bloody blind, you’ve got a horsechestnut tree growing here”. I recognise the leaves now - still got my L plates on. Wish you lived near too.

We moved to a village from a house with a 45 degree slope with a bog at the bottom, it was a nightmare, as was the house.

nice where we are now but we needed help with garden, we hired a handyman and I told him what I wanted - (Shape) and how I wanted soil improved..

You might hire a gardener to make your garden what you want. then a handyman to maintain when needed. Or you could tell the handyman exactly what you want.. Tough one.

You may consider making a low work shrub garden. Include say a none invasive Bamboo, small Hebes - Mediam and small hardy Fuchsias. - Just a suggestion, that is my plan this year with a small holly and ferns included.

You are lucky to have a friend with experience. I may not leave near you but any time you need an answer, you can message and If I can help, I will...

Last year I had every type of scan there is!! Results,IPF moderate/severe, decreased kidney function and severely arthritic neck!! Since my pneumonia, lung function etc might have worsened,I wont know till they can test it.

I love gardening but soon get tired. I cant really afford a gardener so do what I can.I love Spring and my bulbs are coming up as well. So therapeutic!🌷🌾🌼

Aingeful - I have Stage 3 b Kidney Function, I think that is moderate. They found that with blood tests. I feel sorry for anyone with neck problems. I have cervical degeneration and OA in Cervical spine. I take morphine when pain radiates in to the arm.. I hope your ;ung function has not got worse.

We like you do what we can in garden, I think the effort is worth it as you rightly say - Gardens are so "therapeutic" - I wish you well and hope your Lung functions are not worse..
