Hi all,

I am getting blood clots in my nose which are hard to shift and make using cannula

much less effective. Tried nasal spray but no real use.. I would be grateful for benefit of others experience. Thanks

Hi

A trip to your GP, seems in order to find the cause of the nosebleed.

You have to be careful of secondary infection.

I went through a spell of really severe nose bleeds for which I was given an ointment to use to stop infection, also because sometimes the cannulas can get a bit hard smear them with KY Jelly that realy helped me and no problems with nosebleeds since

I have blood clots when blowing my Nose , have done ever since I was put on Oxygen, (3 Years), must say it doesn't stop my Oxygen doing it's Job. I have told My Consultant & Resp Rehab Nurse, said " Sounds Normal". with using the Cannular. If it is very bad then see your GP or Phone Respiritory. All the Best Hun. Let us know the outcome. xxx

NeilMed Sinus Rinse Starter Kit is good. Buy it on line or from some chemists and then just make your own rinse with 1 part

Bi Carb & 3 parts salt and add. Works very well morning and night and is also good nasal hygiene.

How much water to the bicarb and salt, John?

It has a measured container, can't go wrong.

Use approx half a flat teaspoon of salt mix.

Recommended to me by a ENT specialist following an operation, simple to use and very effective. Gently washes the sinuses and nasal passages and helps to keep them moist for the oxygen cannula.
