Still no 4th Jab until April at earliest

Just has telephone consultation with own GP, haven’t spoken to her for over 12 months. Good news is that two nasties that have been partying in my lungs all winter have finally gone, although have several other lesser boarders. Asked when could have my 4th jab, told as not immunosuppressed will have to wait until April at earliest. Nothing she could do. Hope others here have better luck. Jean.xxx

Glad you got to speak with your GP Jean but shame you’re having to wait for your 4th jab. Luckily Pete’s had his. Thinking of you. Xxxx Carole xxx

It was on the news last night that the 4th vaccines for those immunosuppressed and over 75 will begin in April.

There is a lot of confusion between the 4th vaccine which has been given to the immunosuppressed for some months now and the 2nd booster ( 4th vaccine) which will be rolled out to the over 75s and a wider group of people who may be immunosuppressed because they take steroids. This will be rolled out in April following the lifting of all restrictions. The list of eligibility for the 2nd booster includes 'those susceptible to infection'. Although my lungs are in shreds and as we know, bronchs are VERY susceptible to infection my consultant says that I do not need the 2nd booster until it is given to over 50s next autumn. I just hope that when my GP surgery are compiling their list, they think differently.

Littlepom, my MP promised that she would investigate bronchiectasis sufferers being missed. I shall wait for more guidance to come out re April vaccines and then get back to her again. I haven't given up. Xxxx

Thanks, that's great. My MP Nadhim Zahawi sent me a stock answer explaining the lifting of restrictions but not addressing my concerns. The same email went to a friend who asked about it. Very disappointing because he has helped me before and knows about our problems with bronch. I suspect that his staff didn't even pass my email to him because they don't understand what I was talking about.

My MP has not replied to me yet. When he does, it is almost certain to be a bland, stock answer sent out by his minions. I wonder if he even sees most of the emails he's sent.

So glad the party's over for the worst baddies. Hope the others will soon follow them into oblivion. Hang on in till April. We can't have a Brummie lass keeling over. Amazing that your GP has surfaced at last.

Great news that the two real nasties have gone! Not such great news that you still have some 'boarders' (love the terminology) and the jab remains beyond your reach for the moment.

The good news is that March is flying past very fast and so the magic 'April' will soon be here. We shall see then who, if any of us, gets the promised jab. I, for one, am not holding my breath! (Couldn't if I wanted to - haha!)
