Many Bronchs have sinus problems, I have Rhinitis, I have had my sinus' flushed, drain holes drilled and a deviated septum fixed. I flush my nasal passages twice a day, all these treatments help my post nasal drip. I would never take prednisolone unless essential, and certainly not for a runny nose. Although it is not advisable to take a nasal spray which dries your nasal passages for a prolonged period it may help you in the short term. Have you got an active infection, have you had your sputum tested? I did have a pred course, 7 days at 30 then every three days decreasing by 5 mg until zero. It is inadvisable to go from 40 mg to nil without a decreasing course. I suppose 7 days may be OK but I would go for a decreasing dose myself. I wish you good luck.

I have the same problem and put it down to the fact that I breathe through my mouth a lot? Mouth dries up but nose doesn't! , Nose is kept moist to enable breathing and this evapourates some moisture normally . It really is nuisance a Please let me know if you find an answer.

Oh honey, I couldn't possibly advise you, sorry love. You are extremely vulnerable with complex conditions. This is one for your specialist respiratory nurse, and/or your doctor. Good luck, I'm so sorry for your suffering.

Hello PrimroseI have been on prednisone for 3 years. Runny nose most of the time. I take antihistamines and nasal sprays which seem to keep the flow down reasonably well. If I’m eating it does flow more. I can’t tolerate doxycycline as it gives me migraines like other antibiotics. I have both pulmonary fibrosis and COPD which doesn’t help the constant dribbles.

Keep a box of tissues handy at all times. Chin up!

Dee
