Hello Canabeans, it might be an idea to phone your GP and tell him how things are. Maybe he can suggest some other way forward. I do hope so. Please let us know how things go. Take care xxxx

Yes I would go back to gp. There will probably be other hospitals that can do op quicker if asked by gp.

Hi Cb

I would definitely go back to your GP to see if there are other options / locations you could be referred to for the procedure.

Hope everything works out well for you and your husband.

Best wishes BK

Much as I dislike doing it I had both my eyes done under the NHS but at a private eye clinic. It was recommended by my optician. They are good because that is all they do. It all seemed professional, quick, and thorough.

Same here, Kate, well worth it. Ask your optician to refer you to Spa-Medica via the NHS system. They’re used to help shorten the huge long waiting list. I was seen and treated within six weeks for first eye, second similarly. Good luck 🍀

Yes, it was the same company. But a friend had it done in the same way with a different company. I don’t like to see the NHS being privatised by the back door….. But…. And these are extraordinary times.

I agree, and thought more than twice myself, but our eyesight is so precious, isn’t it? Decided it won over principles. My old mum has been increasingly blind for fourteen years, it’s been such a huge loss to her and made me really really aware of the necessity of eyesight. I protect my own at all costs now.

Totally agree with you.It is awful that NHS is underfunded and the waiting lists long.

You are right ,eyesight is so precious and quality of life is very important.

Many lung buddies have had their world's shrunk both by the pandemic and by deteriorating ill health and simple pleasures like reading etc are vital.

Not what you're looking for?
