Hi have a very dry mouth at night, i’ve been told it’s my inhalers. If I don’t take them it Improves but then problems with breathing. The main problem with the dry mouth is waking up in the night three or four times. Any tips or advice

I take a bottle of water to bed, it helps a bit.

Yes thanks I take a drink. This helps but wake up a dry mouth

Biotene mouthwash before you go to bed and a tube of biotene gel to use if you wake up with a really dry mouth might help.

Hi did not work thanks anyway

You can get a dry mouth spray. As mention always have water by you.

Mention to your doctor about the dry mouth and waking up through the night in case there is something the doctor wants to check concerning these symptoms. blood glucose levels etc although when levels high there will be other symptoms as well as dry mouth and disturbed sleep.

Hi thanks have done all the above. Narrowed it down to the inhalers. Just wondering if anybody else has any idea. Artificial spray saliva is don’t work.

Ideas as mentioned :) hope you find something that works, Water to my knowledge is not yet artificial :) ;)

You should always rince your mouth after inhalers. And i find gargling just befor bed helps but nothing iv tried stops it completely 🤷‍♀️

Hi thanks I always Rinse and gargle after inhalers. Unfortunately this doesn’t make any difference for me. If I stop my inhalers it gets a bit better.

I use Xylimelts. I have tried a lot of other products but these are the only ones that work for me. They are easily obtainable online. They take a little getting used to but are well worth the effort

Hi thanks very much it seems to work. Only wake up once so far every night. My mouth seems sticky but not dry. Pop another in works until morning. On 2nd pack but they don’t seem to stick so well.

Hi Chetwode5 I used to suffer like you with my dry mouth waking me up several times every night. I then found Xylimelts which are natural adhering discs that stimulates saliva, coats moisturises and lubricates the mouth, effective for up to 8 hours while you sleep and have a slow release formulation. They prevent dry-mouth from disturbing sleep and contain all natural ingredients and are extremely effective. I buy them on line, I hope this helps. Barbs x

I use xylimelts too - wouldn't have decent sleep without them. During the day I use Boots dry mouth spray as and when needed.

OMG this is me to and it’s really impacting on my life. Waking up in the night leaves you feeling absolutely exhausted!! I noticed you posted this 8 months ago. Have you found anything that helps thank youxx
