Is there anyone on oxygen and also use resmed. I have copd/brochectasis, been on doxy and steroids last few week, finished on 4/1/17. I'm on oxygen 24hrs. I take azythromicin 3 days week. My mouth has been very dry in morning it's stuck!! it takes awhile to be able to swallow and open mouth. Any advise pls.

I can only suggest chewing gum (sugar free). Cheque with your GP to see if any of the oral sprays are safe to use with oxygen. x

Thanks for replying. It's during night when I awake that my mouth is so dry. ☹️

Oxygen is a known desiccant (drying agent), you may need a humidifier attached to your oxygen supply. I am sure one of the oxygen users here will be along soon to offer you advice.

If your problem is night-time and when you wake, a humidifier box to run with your BiPAP machine will sort it. ResMed make one so have a word with whoever gave you the machine at your hospital.

Excuse the brief reply - not at my best just now.

I use Biotene either gel in a tube or a spray bottle. I use it (the gel )before settling down to sleep and always when I first wake to unglue my tongue from the roof of my mouth. Hope this helps as it's the only thing that has worked for me. Hope everyone has a better health year. Judydorney

I know how you feel, it is not the oxygen actually it is your medication. I use oxygen at bedtime, but my meds and RA causes Dry mouth, I also have Dry Eyes. Use Biotine or have a bottle of water near you. Good luck, it is a pain in the butt.
