Dry mouth

Hi!

I've discovered a remedy that works for my dry mouth that regularly wakes me at sill o' clock!! They are called Xylimelts and you put one in when you go to bed and just leave it. It slowly dissolves in your mouth and hey presto no dryness!! Just felt that I had to share!

That's been my problem too and of course drinking leads to getting up through the night and more disturbed sleep so anything to combat that has to be a winner.

Thank you. I will give them a go. Willing to try anything to alleviate my dry mouth.

Have just looked on Amazon and they are out of stock and unable to say when /if they will get them back in. :(

Any ideas on what to do about my dry skin, eyes, etc. ?

There's an online shop called mouthulcers.co.uk that sell them. Fiona

I used to scratch myself so much during the night because of dry skin that I would bleed but have been using Dove shower wash and that has made a huge difference. Hope that you find some relief.

We went to Corfu last year and loved it! Where are you going?

We're going to Sidari, we've been once before, a long time ago. We love the Greek Islands and have been to a few of them. Have you any holidays planned for this year ?

Fionab67 profile image
Fionab67 in reply toCELAT06

We went to Ackaravi last year,Rhodes the year before and we are heading to Kos in July. We too love the islands and the Greek people. If you like Greece there's a place called Stoupa on mainland but in the Peloponnese and that place was wonderful. The sea in front of you and mountains behind you and the place itself was gorgeous.

I don't know Ackaravi, is that another island ? we've been to Kos, but not to Rhodes, on our list for another time. Stoupa sounds lovely, will have a look for it.

Ackaravi is in Corfu and it's worth a visit if you get the chance. Rhodes was fun too. Really need my sunshine holiday this year though,it's been a long cold year and I need to recharge my batteries! Hope that you have a fantastic trip!

CELAT06 in reply toFionab67

Ah, will see if we can go there, do you have a holiday booked ? I know what you mean about recharging, it;s been a bit of a bad time for me the last few months, so a break in the sun is really needed.

Thank you Fionab67 . I may be able to find something similar in Japan. I have tried gels and sprays, they dry up pretty quickly and taste bad to boot. 🌿

The website, mouthulcers.co.uk does say that they will send worldwide so I hope this helps.

Thankyou! I have really bad "dry mouth", to such a degree that my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. Personally I keep tic-tacs by the bed, but I think I'll see if I can get what you suggest.

Since starting Spiriva in summer 2014 and then a few months later on Amitryptyline, I've also had the dry mouth problem. As others have described, it's sometimes so bad that my tongue is almost stuck to the roof of my mouth. I've just been using water or sometimes 'sucky' sweets. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I hope it helps you as much as it helps me.
