Intramuscular injection while taking anticoagulant drugs
I have been having monthly injections for asthma since May 2017. After a heart attack I've been on Ticagrelor and aspirin since Aug 2019. I still have my monthly injections (now self administering since Nov 2019) I have also been having weekly injections (again self administering) since Oct 2019. I have not had any problems with extra bleeding etc. I don't even bruise around the injection sites, although I do get bruises all over my arms, legs, body for no apparent reasons apart from being on aspirin & Ticagrelor.
I think you need to discuss this with your doctor who can advise you better than anyone here. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl....
Thanks
I can only say that my neighbour on warfarin always has her flu jab with no problems.
My jab didn't bleed at all. Administered to a relaxed muscle shouldn't bleed but best seek reassurance from medics. P
Thanks

I know that Spinal injections or Epidural injections are not recommended on Anti coagulants but I have not heard of other injections being a problem.
I am on xarelto and have had blood tests and injections without any problems so far so more than likely you will be fine to have your flu jab.
Thanks a lot
