Back in hospital

Back in hospital with pneumonia and it came on very suddenly. Was in A&E for 12 hours before they could get me a bed. Feeling quite sad as I was getting on very well after my LVR operation and had an appointment on Thursday for a lung function test and seeing the consultant but I assume this now be cancelled . It was already cancelled due to COVID. Hopefully will not have to wait too long for another appointment.

Hello Will, 👋

I'm so sorry to hear about your setback. It really can be so hard when you do all the right things and then suddenly you find yourself on your back in hospital. But please think of this as a temporary setback, and you are in the right place to get all the help you need to feel better and get stronger. I really hope you feel better very soon. Take it easy and best wishes to you.

Cas xx 💐

Oh dear. I do wish you a full and speedy recovery try and rest its a good aid to recovery. I wouldn't worry too much about the lung function test they wont actually change how good your lungs are working. I know its good to find out but it can wate till you are better.

So sorry to read this. But as Cas says you are in the best place and will have the best treatment and medication to make a good recovery. She knows, having had a serious set back a year after her lung transplant. And is now home and well and probably doing too much.

Really sorry to hear this Will. Hopefully they may be able to do a lung function test before you are discharged ie when better. Could you ask them at the hospital about that?

I just asked the consultant but he said due to my present condition

Will it would be pointless doing lung function tests on lungs that are inflamed and infected .rest up get better and then you can measure the success of your recent procedure.

Best wishes Skis and Scruffs 🙂

This is my 4th time with pneumonia in the last 16 moths with 4 hospital admission. Last july I was in hospital and they released me too early and i was back hospital 3 day later where my pneumonia had not cleared up and had sepsis and was informed informed that I only had a very slight chance of surviving then stayed for 23 days

I am really sorry to know you're feeling so bad. You were probably run down after having pneumonia then a cold, and the flu vaccine can have strange side effects. It is demoralising feeling unwell. Hopefully you'll start to feel better soon. Sending you lots of good wishes.
