Thanks sassy59

Usual meds are not working this time, unless it's a different bug going around they'll have to try different antibiotics.

Thanks medow,

They'll keep me here untill

my peak flow gets back near normal.

Hello. How typical and upsetting to get sick at Christmas. Isn't there a respiratory consultant on call? I just looked at your profile & saw you're on xolair - is that still working for you (when you haven't got an infection that is)?

HI Hanne62,

Been on Xolair since March 2013 this is the 1st time I've been hospitalised since I've been on it. I have been on 10mg prednisolone since October it helped me get through the winter last year without any flare ups at all.

Sorry to hear you are in the wards,,, and that the rough time you have been having,,,, we all have to hope the medical world gets the treatment right for us,,,eventually,,

does no good sending a person home who is far from being well enough to go,,,and then all the coming back,,,silly plan,,,hope the next days are better for you,,,ttfn Karen.

Sorry to hear you are in hospital over the Xmas time. Hopefully once the docs get the right anti biotics going, you'll make a good recovery. Wishing you well.

Hi All,

Got home from hospital this afternoon, just as they were closing the roads for the fireworks tonight. I will have to watch them on TV, missed the best view ever (10th floor St Thomas hospital, opposite big ben) I live close enough to see most of the fireworks over the flats from our back window, and close enough to hear the noise from them all, rather be home with my wife as she's not been well either, so we will be seeing the new year in indoors by ourselves.

I will be having a small dram from a very nice bottle of whisky bought for me for xmas.

Went to GP Monday and was signed off for the week, feeling a lot better this morning, peak flow got to 520, I hope it stays there so I have a good weekend and I'm able to catch up on a few jobs indoors. My wife has also improved a lot, she has finished her antibiotics and inhalers yesterday, so we'll both be glad to be back to normal again.

Thanks for all your messages.

That's great to hear TB. Don't go mad with the indoor jobs though!

Thanks Hanne,

They are not big jobs, but I will hopefully get them done by the weekend.

Hope you are feeling a bit better now. I used to have quite bad asthma when i was younger, but fortunately it has gotten much better as i get older.

I am helping to create a few short films (internally) for healthcare professionals, to understand asthma more and help identify with their patients. I'm looking for people who have severe asthma, on medication to talk about their story and their daily struggles with it for a interview. (Paid!) Would you be interested at all? It's for a good cause and would be at your own pace.

Thanks for your time,

Hi bonvaudeville12,

I'd be glad to talk if it helps. I live in London, we'd have to arrange a time to talk, busy most nights this week, unless its quite late.
