At risk?

Maybe I am not at risk so would like to know if anyone is in the same situation? I have had lung cancer and have had a lung removed, chemo and radiotherapy 2 years ago. I have not received a letter telling me that I am vulnerable.

I am still working as my job is deemed essential (I work for a company who produce and print exam papers both in the U.K. and abroad) so as I can’t do this at home because of confidently, I am required to go in. All the desks have been moved and working to a rota at the moment to keep a skeleton staff.

Have any of you in my situation received a letter? Don’t get me wrong staying at home would do me in but it’s all so confusing!!

Thanks Bel

You are definitely at high risk so you need to self isolate, essential worker or not. x

Speak to the secretary at your gp surgery they should be able to let you know if you have been put on the their vunerable list if not why not.

I know that but everyone’s circumstances are unique. Being made to feel guilty doesn’t help. Thanks

How does that link make you feel guilty ? Its reality, we are all dealing with it, no exception. There is Risk for everyone, those of us with lung issues are at a higher risk of mortality.

Be Safe and stay well.

Maybe some people have enough to get through, I don’t so I can’t just walk out

Make sure you get registered today there where bound to be names missed it’s up to you to look after yourself in these desperate times Your health right now is priority you must have been through so much in the last few years don’t risk anything. Shield yourself it’s only for a couple of months take extra care I wish you well xxx

Christina, a couple of months I could get through but paying my bills is kind of important too. I have already been in touch with Papworth but nothing yet!

I would contact my GP Re this ask for a telephone consultation . I cannot believe that someone with one lung is not severely vulnerable during a highly infectious ‘respiratory’ virus pandemic. Staying at home is not easy for any of us but we are saving a hospital bed ??

I know that so you don’t have to tell me

Sorry did not mean to offend you. Just thought you were asking for opinions.

Also apologise for my view if it offends you. I’ve been working at the front line as such until I was sent home after I got my letter. So I’m frightened for anyone who already is compromised with a lung issue.

I havent received a letter either . I am not in the same capacity as yourself I have COPD and had to close my dog walking business for the time being .

I think you should speak to your GP regarding being given a letter regarding your being vunerable hope you get it sorted out 💕💕

Hi look at the Gov. info online. You are entitled to 80 pc of your wages and have a 3 month holiday from rent or mortgage payments. Surely you can manage financially then? x
