Sorry to be a pain but I'm still a bit confused!

Hi all. I'm new to this hub - but wondered if anyone could help me with some advice please. Last week in January I was airlifted to hospital where I stayed for a week following a diagnosis of 3 blood clots on my lung: Pulmonary Embolism. I am on Apixaban 5mgs x2 daily along with Lisinopril 40mgs, Amlodipine 10mgs and Co-codamol 30mgs x 4 daily as I'm still in quite a bit of discomfort and mild pain. I have only just returned to work on light duties - I work in a small local supermarket where I have had lots of comments from customers saying I should be at home as I'm high risk. My GP has said it is up to me but I am desperate to do the right thing by all. The only information I can find is from the USA but nothing about Pulmonary Embolisms, the medication I am taking and the Coronavirus.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thank you

Like Sassy has said, stay at home where it's safer for you. Have a lovely day and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx

I agree with Sassy and Damon .... think of yourself and please stay at home. 👏

If in doubt, stay home and indoors practice social distancing.

PEs can cause lung damage although I stress that the vast majority make a complete recovery. But any lung damage at all makes you more vulnerable to this virus.

So stay at home.

I had multiple PE 10 yrs after having first PE (due to broken leg and resulting clot.) I wsnt on any blood thinners until i had the second PE(when i had banged my leg) so you are protected with apixaban from reoccurence of PE but your lungs are potentially damaged and the virus attacks the lungs. I would stay away from the general public for your own sake primarily but also if infected you would be passing it on unknowingly for up to 5 or more days to your family and the general public
