My home oxygen nurse specialists are great but can't get them to agree to increase my HOOF to more than 10 cylinders per week plus 2 that I carry.
I have severe lung & heart disease, including newly diagnosed pulmonary hypertension. On 10 litres 24/7, work full time, so need 15 cylinders a week just to get to & from work. That's not including any for going shopping, socialising etc If I cannot resolve this its likely I'm going to have to go part time or give up work entirely which is a shame as just being stuck at home is the worst possible situation for me as I live alone & am only 55 so would like to try & maintain my employment for a while yet.

Got rid of my Cylinders years ago, have an Inogen 1 Mobile,(Shoulder bag) lasts 4 hours can be Plugged into any electric socket to Charge up even in use. At Home have a Convertor for night time Oxygen, again on electric,(mains). I am on 16 hours daily.( used to be 24/7). Ask your Respiratory, you should have the Pink emergency Card with their Number, or ask your Oxygen Supplier, Mine "Air Liquide" changed mine and maintain them every 6 months. Good Luck. xxx
Thanks for your replies will investigate all your suggestions. Have tried enlisting GP/consultant already. Didn't realise could get more than 1 delivery per week. Seeing 02 nurse in couple weeks so will discuss with them.
Hi I get 18 a week 6 on mon wed and fri. I work and they leave them In my wood store. I dont need to constantly phone up as I have them come same days each week. I also have home concentrate.
Your oxygen are you on breath activated or contestant flow because if you could use the breath activation they would last longer
I’m surprised you wasn’t told you can phone for more than one delivery per week also look to go on Liquid Oxygen it last longer also they could have a container supplied to your work place has well has home .
Tell whoever deals with your oxygen prescription that this is affecting your life. You may have to ‘stamp your feet’ but they will listen as the whole idea is to make us as independent as possible. Do some research so you can say what YOU want. You’ll get there eventually. As others have said, order your cylinders as often as you need, daily if need be. I know they limit the number due to storage sometimes. As a fellow user (24/7) I can relate to your situation but I now have a nice little set up and get out and about like a ‘normal’ person. Good luck and don’t even think about giving up work until it gets too much for you. Joy x
Thanks for your replies nice to feedback a positive outcome. Had my quarterly home assessment & it has been agreed I can have two deliveries per week so I'll have enough portable oxygen to keep working full time.
