Copd and Trimbow

My Aunt has Copd and so have I. We are both on Trimbow her gp told her Trimbow is the last resort if other inhalers don't work. I live 250 miles from her so we don't share the same surgery. My nurse never said that to me. Can anyone help throw some light on this issue. Many thanks.

Thank you Darceydoo, neither of us have ever been referred to a specialist. My gp runs a clinic for breathing problems. I know my aunt's Gp doesn't she sees the Gp.

I think some (not all!) doctors have no idea what they’re talking about. I just read in the asthma group here that someone’s doctor told them Trimbow is only for asthma and never for COPD 🙄 It seems different doctors have different ideas about it, or misinformation, and different reasons for prescribing it, sometimes just because they see it as a more convenient alternative to giving 3 separate inhalers, and more convenient for the patient to take one inhaler instead of 3. I’m hoping to try Trimbow, not as a last resort, but because the inhalers I’ve been given thus far don’t work well for me. I don’t see it as a last resort, just the next in line to try.

Thank you HungryHufflepuff, I think your right there doesn't seem to be a straightforward answer. It is a bit hit or miss. I hope Trimbow helps you.

Thanks. Also I meant to say Trimbow is relatively new so maybe some doctors aren't too familiar with it or even haven't come across it at all before.

Thank you HungryHufflepuff,

As you say, maybe a lack of knowledge regarding new inhalers doesn't help.
