In 2016 I had my gallbladder removed. Unfortunately I developed a incisional hernia. I also have a hiatus hernia. It caused severe shortness of breath and because I was desperate arranged to have it repaired privately. Unfortunately was put on steroids just before the op and it didn’t go ahead. Things have gone from bad to worse and I’m now constantly short of breath, I’m on 300 mg of uniphllin twice a day, and trelegy inhaler. In April I was hospitalised with co2 retention and spent a week in hospital. My fitness levels have diminished and I’ve lost a stone in weight. I have a nebuliser which I use once a day. Has anyone any ideas what I can now do to help myself please

Hernia and shortness of breath
On my, this sounds terrible. I am sorry that you feel this bad ATM. But if you taken steorids it will take time to heal again. Steroids are always weakness to your immune system special when you stop taking them. Steroids also can get you wheezing.
For the Hernia I had a friend who suffered from it he always complaint to be out of breath special when he had eaten, and it says If it grows too big, it can push on the diaphragm and squash the lungs, causing chest pain and shortness of breath. He had it removed and it's a lot better after. I lost touch with him because he moved away.
But I believe it would help to get it removed when it's to big.
But I guess you have to get better to have this done. So try to eat healthy lots of vitamin supplement after the steroids is good thing to do, also some avocado if you like them to give your liver a boost to help healing your body.
Try to walk a bit every day even if it is only in your house but it will help open the windows when you walk around to get a good some fresh air, just a bit step by step take it slow and add a few more steps every day. And speak to your GP and get support.
I wish you well that you getting better again 🌹🌹🌹 take care of yourself!!
