When fur is not enough!!

โ€ข32 Replies

Hello my dear friends,

Getting chilly?? ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ

Saw the GP, all tanned from his Mexican holiday! So Blood test and sputum test tomorrow first thing. He didnโ€™t like the rare bird..He also wants to check if I have fungi in my chest? Doesnโ€™t like that lingering cough..ENT eliminated Gerd so that was good.

I have a nasal antibiotic cream for the damage caused by the ENT and a referral to the allergy clinic to see if I am really allergic to penicillin or not..

There was an article about that this week in the Times? Did you see it? Small choice of papers in my Swiss town...anyway I thought it was exactly me, diagnosed with an allergy to penicillin and catching a hospital bug! Not the first time, because I got one in 1985 as he reminded me looking through my file.

I asked am I immunodeficient? He said yes.

So it is all fun ๐Ÿ˜ƒin the Alps โ›ฐ

I finished 2 detective novels, starting on a 3rd..will watch football this evening, early game!

Hope you are keeping well x

Fran

So end of the Ologists and onwards towards a diet of guacamole and tequila from your friendly Mexicanised Gp.i hope you don't have a funny guy in your chest, you have enough to cope with already.

Start on your next novel now as Psg will have defeated Red star by half time and you will soon be bored.Aria looks rather fetching in her designer towel. :)

Ski's and Scruff's xx

โ€ข in reply toskischool

More ologists to come my dear Skis, they multiply like oligarchs^^

We didnโ€™t talk Tequila, he is the slim fit clean guy type..

No Guinness on match night, it may alter my iron and liver levels tomorrow morning..

Haha..I said to Bea keep the pictures coming I can do with cheering up.

Well I have picked up quite a few second hand books from Jimโ€™s British Market, our local expat shop. I think Iโ€™ve done well ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

How are Scruffynounette toothy pegs??

Interesting and useless fact No1.Healthy cats have 32 teeth,Scruffy has a mere 9 which is 8 more than her owner/slave yet she manages to consume half of the UK.s import quota of line caught tuna.not doing bad for a gummy moggie. :) xx

โ€ข in reply toskischool

Poor Scruffynounette ๐Ÿˆ and her toothless owner ๐ŸŽฟ..well weโ€™ve got a right pair, you have a gummy moggie on tuna and we have a runny tummy one on pork and pumpkin ๐ŸŽƒ said Bea! Certainly spending our quota of vet fees!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Not sure if itโ€™s good or bad? But I like the sound of your GP. At least he is following things through. Now... just a suggestion, how about writing the next book? On your very own? Or maybe a memoir? Just do it. Get some words down. Donโ€™t stop, just keep going. Shoot the monkey on your shoulder, that is muttering negative stuff in your ear about โ€œwasting timeโ€. I am watching, and I am scarier than any monkey....

Love

โ€ข in reply toKatinka46

Hi Kate,

Well you are right, he is following up whereas the others probably thought she is getting on a bit, so forgot all about me!!^^

No, I have nothing fun to write about, who would want to read about Swiss bird bugs and mosquitos! Yes they are still around and I am wondering if they come through the ventilation system because it is 7 degrees out in the Jura mountains!

Monkeys ๐Ÿ’ ?? No I may have ๐ŸŸ on my shoulder ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Zebras ๐Ÿฆ“ Monkeys ๐Ÿ’..Jungle Book ๐Ÿ“–?

It is my dear Carole, not a dull moment! ๐Ÿ˜…

So I reread some paperbacks I had forgotten I read and only realised it half way through but read them to the end because I couldnโ€™t remember the end either!

Wishing you well too xx ๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ’“

Youโ€™re very lucky to have such a competent GP, Fran. Worth his weight in gold ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐI feel happy heโ€™s now in charge ๐Ÿค— Love ๐Ÿฆ€ (had one left in my pocket!) ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’• xx

โ€ข in reply toYatzy

Yes Penny thank you ๐Ÿ’“I feel lucky๐Ÿ€He follows things through. I think he was puzzled when I first saw him and said I had LAM, so he did his research.

You know you have the type who think itโ€™s going to give me too much work, canโ€™t be bothered and refer you straight away then you have the few who find it interesting because they like the medical profession I suppose and it changes from the daily ailments. He is of the 2nd type, I brighten up his day ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Love,

Fran xx

Iโ€™m sure you do, Fran ๐Ÿฆ‹ youโ€™re good at brightening all our days โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿฆ‹ !!

My last GP was in that category...always pleased to see me and wanting to help, intelligent and up to date, but he retired and I moved house. ๐Ÿ˜

I havenโ€™t met any GPs at my new surgery yet, so not feeling as safe as I used to....the receptionists seem keen on pushing me towards the asthma nurses so far, and I feel Iโ€™m the one who knows not them.

Early days, though, and apart from a drug change that went wrong, no further challenges.

Fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž

Have a good day, Fran, โ›ฑ ๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿคฉ Bet it was good to meet up with Bea and Aria again โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™โค๏ธ Have I got it right....? Is it this week theyโ€™re with you?? ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜บ

My grand-babysitting day today, ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป so Iโ€™d better get moving. Love ๐Ÿฆ€ and good luck ๐Ÿ€ Penny xx

โ€ข in reply toYatzy

Hi Penny

Hope you find a good GP my dear friend ๐Ÿ˜Š

No Iโ€™ll see Bea in November..Iโ€™m still in the nursing home until I go to the Lyons Hospital..works on the flat is taking longer than planned as always..but it is ok here, very restful and no chores ๐Ÿ˜‰ just going through those tests and medical visits until they sort it all out.

It is a good time to do all this in a way, while the flat is being renovated. Then I can look forward to peace and Christmas ๐ŸŽ„

I like the crabs ๐Ÿฆ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚

Love,

Fran xx

Oh I see ๐Ÿ‘€! Iโ€™m glad youโ€™re comfortable where you are, Fran....these building works always last longer that quoted ๐Ÿ‘ทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ Christmas not long now, or so the shops are telling us! ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŽ„

I do hope your tests and treatment lead to some important problems solved, Fran ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€โš•๏ธ Iโ€™d be interested in your penicillin allergy test.....Iโ€™m allergic too but Iโ€™ve been reading it doesnโ€™t always last a lifetime. Iโ€™m so odd with so many drugs though that Iโ€™d be very very nervous to try it again.

Hereโ€™s hoping for medical successes for us both ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿพ

Love ๐Ÿฆ€ (the crab is my latest fancy since my recent rocky beach holiday! ๐Ÿ˜‚ ) Penny xx

What a great photo! That is so cute. I hope your next lot of tests go well (& don't inflict any further injury on you!) It's good to know your doctor is on the case. Hopefully it will be a start of getting things sorted out for you.

Fran, Whatโ€™s the name and location of your pulmonologist? I will be in England in December to see Sir Paul McCartney play in Liverpool. I was thinking of seeing a London specialist for a second opinion.

โ€ข in reply toSharp5Flat13

Lovely trip! I am in Switzerland now. Book an appointment at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. Top pulmonology and cardiology hospital.

Check the Consultant list on website and take the top one!

Maybe somebody here will recommend one, we have quite a few forum members who attend that hospital.

Take care x

Exactly not out of the woods yet but at least I have a GP following things and saw an endocrinologist who explained steroids clearly to me yesterday.

I need to digest the fact that I will have to take them for the rest of my life, well I did last night so thatโ€™s that. I will ask the nurse where to order that id bracelet now.
