Inhalers. Powder v liquid
I had a Spiriva powder inhaler but was never convinced of its effectiveness. I discussed this with my consultant and he agreed so I changed to the Spiriva Respimat which I found worked better. The main thing is that it doesn't rely on your ability to suck it in.
Of the inhalers I've tried, the ones that require you to suck tended to make my chest tight.
Powder is cheaper. That’s why the NHS swapped my evohalers for those awful disks. I don’t like it it sticks to my gums and pallet and gives me ulcers.
So when I moved abroad I saw everybody had evohalers nicely fitting in the aerochamber and I didn’t look back!
Good luck x
Thankyou. I suspected as much about costing. But surely if it doesn't agree with you they should change you to something that does!
The GP tried you know..I got my old seretide evohaler for a while but then there was a letter from the surgery pharmacist informing me it had been changed to a generic.. of poor quality I may add..anyway as I said I started getting them abroad and there are no problems anymore. The main thing was not to be able to fit those diskus in an aerochamber when it is well known that only 10% actually penetrates the lungs.
A disgrace.
