New inhaler Anoro
Yes, I’m using it. Switched from Spiriva. Not too sure whether I’m happy with it or not. How about you?
I have only been on it for 7 days so need to give it a bit longer to decide. So far I have had to use Ventolin late afternoon but it may be due to my recovery period from hospitalisation.
Thank you for your response.
I've been on ANORO for about two months now and have found it pretty good, and it has reduced my use and dependency on Ventolin for sure.
That’s very encouraging tctelboy, Have been reluctant to change for over two years now. They have tried to wean more off Seretide as I have been using it for many years and have been told it can affect the heart. Each time I have tried a new inhaler I have had side affects, so have gone back to Seretide and Spiriva.
Been on Anoro just 8 days so will keep at it for at least 1 month., I hope!
Seretide is good for asthma but ‘they’ have now decided it doesn’t do anything for COPD. I used it when first diagnosed but hated inhaling a steroid so I checked out and asked for Spiriva, which I was on for years. Haven’t been back to the consultant since!
Hope the Anoro works for you.
Hi dogcyrus,
I would say if you have COPD or/and Asthma or/and Bronchiectesis it's not good for the heart to have breathing out of control....
That's not to say you will have any problem but if the condition you are in is stable... lm a great believer in, 'lf it ain't broke don't fix it'!
I'm afraid every one is in to cost cutting nowadays...
See my response to Kittycat a few questions back...
I have been on Anora for a year now and I find I'm using my Ventolin more I did ask to go back on spiriva but was told the Anora has three in one so it's the better one. I suppose it works differently on the individual.
Thank you liz1234. Just been on it 8 days. Suppose I must try. Each time I have been given a new inhaler there have been side issues. I hope this time it will be successful.
I think a big problem with these types of questions is that every individual is unique in their physical as well as mental make up and therefore each and everyone of us will react differently I guess.
I have been given a 3in 1 called Trimbow I'm in the UK
Thank you shadow4me , I have not heard of it shall check it with my respiratory nurse. I to inUK.
can you tell me please what does seretide do to your heart?
You need to speak to your Respiratory physiotherapist or respiratory nurse, GP.I don’t want to mislead you with part information. It’s aboutlong term usage. Sorry can’t be more specific.
I've been on Anoro for the past 5 years. The statistics for it are excellent as a long acting pipe opener, I've done lots of reading up on it. For me, it has a very gradual, gentle onset of action and i was changed in the summer to a trial of Spiolto respimat which is the only other inhaler of its type but I had a very intense allergic reaction to it so had no alternative but to revert to the Anoro.
I should mention that I don't have COPD as such but Small Airways Disease due to Lipus so a dry powder inhaler is harder to get to where it is needed. I hope you do well on it. Clare
Clareb67, thank you so much. Most encourageing. I was put on Spiolto respimat as wel and unfortunate side affects reverting back to Seretide and Spiriva. Both consultant and respiratory nurse have been try to wean away from them so now trying Anoro - for a couple day, later in the afternoon I need Ventolin to help me breath but fortunately I have reduced to about two puffs a day. Maybe adjusting to Anoro. Shall endeavour to continue using new inhaler hoping it will be the one.
One gain - thank you.
Take care of yourself
I’ve just been put on this so hope it’s good for us . Doc recons I shouldn’t need the ventolin and if it’s works for you it’s the best. Suggested don’t get rob of my other inhaler just in case
